Improving product quality every day
Since March 2011, Herth+Buss has had its own test bench for starters and alternators. This has enabled us to further improve our product quality in these particular product groups.
On the one hand this is because we only ever add products to our range if we have thoroughly tested them ourselves and assessed them as having the right quality. On the other hand, it is because the relevant supplier receives immediate feedback if there are problems with the test results and can therefore optimise the corresponding product right away.
Another important area of use for the new test bench is in identifying the causes of faults following complaints. We have found that only half of all complaints are justified. In fact, 40 percent of products subject to complaints are fully functional.
As all complaint assessments now come from the same place, they are based on standardised testing criteria, making the results directly comparable with one another. As we now have direct contacts in-house, with shorter information paths, our complaint handling is now much faster too.
Another important task of the test bench is to continuously monitor the quality of the starters and alternators. The test bench is state of the art and even detects computer signals that other equipment would miss.
