In modern vehicles, more and more components are electronically monitored and controlled. Sensors are the vehicle’s “sense organs” for engine speed, speed, acceleration, fuel concentration, temperature and other input parameters. The signals are indispensable for many control and regulation functions of the various management systems e.g. engine, chassis, safety and comfort. Sensors and actuators used today are exposed to higher and higher temperatures, more aggressive media and increased thermo-mechanical loads. In addition, reduced installation space is required, as well as greater engine capacity and engine encapsulation to dampen noise, an installation position closer to the measuring point in order to increase accuracy. These rapid developments require top quality and an exact fit, otherwise these elements quickly become the Achilles heel of a modern vehicle.
